Our Little Swimmer

This week Will went into the pool for the first time! He was timid at first, but he really ended up enjoying it! We did a Mommy and Me swim class (Swimming Lessons With Mrs. Holly). Mrs. Holly is fabulous! We had a great time! Will was exhausted each day after class.

Will learned to kick, float on his back, jump in the pool, swim under water, and how to properly lounge in the pool.

I hope the videos work!!

At Last...

As I mentioned in my last post, at the end of April we were home for Sarah and Graham's wedding. We had a fabulous time and are so lucky that we got to be part of such a special day. For their first dance as a married couple Sarah and Graham danced to At Last. It was very fitting. Haha! We've been waiting for this wedding for a long time!

Matt and I were both in the ceremony. Matt was a groomsmen and I was the matron of honor. As matron of honor I had a speech to write. I was surprised when I started to write it how difficult it was to write! There were so many things to write about and so many FRIENDS quotes swirling through my head. I think the end result ended up being pretty special though!

Happy Mother's Day!!

Ironically, our Mother's Day celebrations got in the way of publishing this post on time. We love our moms everyday though so technically every day can be Mother's Day! :)

This Mother's Day is so special!  I feel so blessed and honored to be Will's mother. He teaches me about patience and love daily. I just can't imagine my life without him. He melts my heart when he reaches for me, stares up at me with those big blue eyes, and laughs that belly laugh.

Motherhood has definitely changed me as a person. Most of all my relationship with God has been strengthened. I am learning that some days are better than others. Getting frustrated or being tired doesn't make me a bad mother...it makes me a human. Will loves me even if I'm not perfect and get frustrated. There are definitely ups and downs during the day, but I wouldn't change a thing. Will loves me whether I'm being goofy and dancing to silly songs with him or crying because I'm exhausted and can't put his diaper on right. I'm cherishing every moment with him...even the ones in the middle of the night.

I also realize even more how amazing my mother has always been. She is always there for us. She is continually supporting us and cheering us on. She's there for the smiles and the tears. I would not be the person, nor the mother, that I am today if it wasn't for her. I love you so much mom.

I also am so thankful for Matt's mother, Mary. She raised an amazing son. I'm so lucky to have Matt as my best friend and anchor.

Five Months...Really Belated

So I wrote this when Will was five months old, and now I'm finally adding the pictures...such a slacker!

Everyone says they grow up so fast...it's so true! I wish I could just bottle up this stage. Will is so energetic these days. He's not much of a lap baby anymore! He prefers to be in his jumper, exersaucer, or rolling around on the floor. That's right...he's rolling over! He is squealing and babbling non stop. He's even babbling while he is eating (taking after his mom)! What a big boy!

Momma! I can play with the blocks! I don't want to smile right now!

 Way better...

Hurry up...I have things to do.

You better hurry up and take your pictures.

 I'n not kidding.

All done!

Sorry I didn't warn you about all of the pictures that were headed your way! Also, we are still learning how to use our camera...

the zoo

We love to go to the zoo! We are so lucky to live so close to the zoo. Will is starting to notice the animals and actually stay awake these days. The other day we went to the zoo with Parker and Cole. Parker got some great pictures of Will!

A Bachelorette and A Birthday Girl

In the beginning of April we packed up for another road trip. We all went to Atlanta for the weekend to celebrate Sarah and Graham. The guys ended up staying less than 2 miles away from the girls, but we managed to not run into each other all weekend.

Sarah's bachelorette weekend was fast and fun. Mimi met us in Atlanta so she could watch Will. Friday night was a laid back with pizza and drinks. Saturday morning we headed to some wineries. The weather was perfect and a lot of wine was consumed...not by me. Then we headed back to our hotel to have a lingerie party and go out to the Melting Pot!!

 chillin...literally...at one of the wineries

Sunday was my birthday so we said our goodbyes and headed to lunch with my mom! It was so crazy to me that on my birthday last year Will was still a big secret, and this year for my birthday he was 5 months old! My how things change in a year!! We ended our 7 hour drive at Mellow Mushroom. :)
