Our Little Family

Our friend Parker was sweet enough to take some family pictures for us this weekend. There are many great places to have a photo shoot around Memphis. We chose to meet at Rhodes College. It is a stunning campus. Parker took a lot of beautiful pictures. Her goal is always to get 5 good ones. She definitely surpassed her goal! Will loves Ms. Parker so he was pretty comfortable smiling and playing while she worked away! We are so thankful to Parker for capturing such a sweet time in our lives.

Here is a slideshow Parker put together:

Mindi and Connor

Last week my cousin, Mindi, and her little boy, Connor, came to visit us! I have so many great memories of summers in Ohio with Mindi and my other cousins. Mindi and I have always been very close. I couldn't wait for Will to meet Connor and spend hours playing!

We spent a lot of time in the den playing.

On the Move

Will started crawling on Father's Day (June 16, 2013). He had been working so hard to crawl and all of the sudden he was on the move! He has been sleeping very well at night...so have we!

A Weekend for Dada

We had such a great weekend! Will and I had so much fun spoiling Matt. We ran around and did so much that by the end of the weekend we felt like we needed a weekend to recover from our weekend!

Saturday we started the day off at Gibson's for some donuts!! They have the best donuts. Then we headed to the zoo so we could get an early start before it got too hot. Will is really starting to interact with the animals which is so much fun! We spent a lot of time with the sea lions. He got a little scared when one came to join him! Thank goodness for that thick glass. :) After the zoo we headed to Lenny's to get some lunch. After lunch we all took a much needed nap. When Will woke up from his nap we headed downtown to get some ice cream followed by a trip to The Peabody to watch the ducks march down the red carpet. Since it was such a nice night we decided to hang out downtown and have dinner at Majestic.

Sorry about the iPhone pics!

Sunday morning we went to church and then played in the baby pool! We celebrated that night with steaks on the grill, mac and cheese, and cheesecakes from GiGi's. What a fun time. I think we wore Matt out!

ATL

The second weekend in June we were off to Atlanta for Whitney and Jeff's wedding! Will has become quite the traveler. He's so good in the car. Mimi drove down to Atlanta to hang out and watch Will while we were at the wedding. We got there late Friday afternoon. Mimi was still on her way so we decided to take a stroll on Georgia Tech's campus which was conveniently right across from our hotel. We took a few pictures on our rival's campus and then went back to the hotel to see Mimi!! We had pizza delivered and it was amazing!

Saturday morning we headed to the Georgia Aquarium. It was beautiful and lots of fun. Will was just going wild when he saw all of the fish. There were even some fish spitting on us! We walked through the aquarium lingering at the beluga whales, penguins, and otters. Before we left we hit up the gift store (which you must walk through to exit...genius). Matt let Will choose between an otter and a beluga whale stuffed animal. Will picked the otter. Matt really wanted him to choose the beluga whale so Matt switched what hand they were in, but Will still picked the otter! It is so neat to see him making choices. After the aquarium we went to Ted's Montana Grill for lunch. It was delicious! Next, we headed back to the hotel for a quick nap and then started getting ready for the wedding. Mimi shooed us out the door so her and Will could hang out.

The wedding was absolutely beautiful. Whitney and Jeff are so in love and perfect for each other. They have the cutest story of how they met: see "A Purr-fect Match". We had a great night with friends!

Seven Month Photo Shoot

I'm a little late...I'll meet my next goal though! That 8 month post will be up by July 5!

I really need time to slow way down. The days, weeks, and months are just flying by too fast. Will is such a happy boy. He loves to laugh and play. He is army crawling and scooting everywhere. He will be crawling ANY day now. The other day he sat up by himself. Luckily, he did it for the first time while I was trying to get him to crawl and just happened to be taking a video! He is still talking up a storm (shocker) and his squeals have become even louder. He even had his first sweet potato fry which was a huge hit!! He still has no teeth, but I'm sure they'll be here soon!

*I wrote this post last week. So...UPDATE: Will started crawling on Father's Day!

Happy Father's Day!!

What a special day!! Will and I have been working hard this weekend to spoil Matt for his first Father's Day! More on that later!

I always knew Matt would be a good father. These past seven months I have seen him be an amazing father. I have fallen even more in love with him, and remind myself daily how lucky Will and I are to have Matt. He takes such good care of Will.

Luckily for Will, Matt is a morning person. Will gets up in the morning bright eyed and ready to take on the world just like his daddy, and me well...just call me Erin the grouch. When Will was a newborn Matt would wake up early with him on the weekends to play and snuggle so I could get some sleep. These days mornings consist of rolling around and playing on our bed. Will just adores his dad. At first he called him Geee, but now he is working on Dada. So sweet! I just love watching the two of them play and interact.

Happy Father's Day Matt/Dada!! We love you you!

To our fathers (GGL and Grandpa Dan): Happy Father's Day!! Thank you for being there for us and showering us with unconditional love. We love you both!

Will's Baptism

This past weekend was full of excitement and family! On Saturday, we had family and friends over to celebrate Will. On Sunday, we finally had Will baptized!! Our priest persuaded us to have Will's baptism during mass. Originally we wanted to do it outside of mass on Saturday, but Father Val said he would like us to do it during the mass we normally attend each Sunday since we are such a part of the church. How do you say no to that? It meant long and late traveling hours for some family members, but they didn't mind. We are so glad that we had his baptism during mass. It was simply beautiful and perfect. We are so blessed to have this sweet little boy. We are excited to share our faith with him and know that we have his godparents, Melanie and Michael, to help us along the way. Our friend Parker took some beautiful pictures for us during the baptism.

Six Months...Half a Year

One of these days I'm going to get it together!! Will turned seven months old the other day, and I have yet to publish his 6 month photo shoot...slacker! My goals: get seven month photo shoot posted by the end of next week and post his 8 month photo shoot no later than July 5. Now you know them so it has to happen.

We have been having a blast! I can't even believe Will is over half a year old! I feel like just yesterday he was this tiny little baby I was afraid to "break". He is sitting up and oh so close to crawling. He rolls and scoots everywhere. He still squeals with delight constantly. Especially when he sees the cats! He adores his dad and thinks he is just hilarious. I'm just trying to soak up every minute of this time in our lives. Confession: I hate when I have to put Will to bed. I miss him so much for those hours!
